God created all men expressly for his pleasure, and, therefore, not for ultimate death. Thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. Rev. 4:11 Adam Clarke has a fine remark on this passage. He says, He made all things for his pleasure; and through the same motive he preserves. Paul saith, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them. 2 Cor. It is impossible for God to lie, who has sworn to Abraham to bless all the kindreds of the earth, in his seed, which is Christ Jesus our Lord and saviour. Hence, it is most evident, that he hateth nothing that he has made; and could have made no intelligent creature with the design to make it eternally miserable.
